The report

Speechless

mitchell.jpg

Well, the Mitchell report came out and and much to my dismay my childhood hero apparently took steroids. Rocket, say it ain’t so. I think once I get over the disappointment it’ll actually be a good thing for baseball. Maybe the commish will make some positive changes. Baseball’s been through scandal and has survived, and it’ll get through this. Maybe people will start to remember baseball is a game and not a business.

Santarchy

The annual Santacon was held Saturday in New York and Portland. If you don’t know what it is check it out… It’s fun and wrong at the same time. Anyhow, I came across this memo. Enjoy.

Wondering the internet

Found Beauty

flightpattern.jpg

Screwing around the other day I came across the image above. At first I thought it was a fairly interesting piece of art. After a little more reading I discovered it was actually a visualization of FAA flight pattern data parsed and animated. Each one of these little lines represents a plane in the air. Also the image is time accurate, so at one second of one day there can be that many planes in the sky. This is an amazing example of how art and beauty can be pulled from almost anywhere; it’s just a matter of how you look at it.

R.I.P.

The man, The legend

knievel.jpg

Robert Craig Knievel, better known as Evel Knievel died Friday night. The man and his attitude towards life will be missed. Even though he has long since retired and faded from the public eye we should all remember this man’s ability to throw caution to the wind and go for broke. He stood in the face of danger and said fuck you. He had balls of steel, and Pennant Race loves that kind of courage. So in honor of the Evel one, every once-in-awhile, stand-up and take a risk. You may fall and break your pelvis, or you may land to thunderous applause.
