Today marks the launch of Pennant Race Web Gems, the on-line exclusives section of our website. This section will feature one-of-a-kind projects that you can only find here on pennantracegear.com. All projects will be extremely limited and only produced in one run, meaning when they’re gone… they’re gone. You snooze, you lose! We hope to add a few pieces every month or so. Possible items you may find will be special collaboration projects, exclusive limited-edition colorways of past favorites, or never before seen pieces.
We’re opening the section with a couple very unique projects that are sure to make great additions to your ever growing Pennant Race collection! Drum roll please… Here are our first two on-line exclusives.
Remember when you were a kid sifting through your packs of baseball cards trying to find that super rare “error” card? You gotta remember… the Dale Murphy “Reverse Negative” or the Billy Ripken “Fuck Face” card. Those were the good old days!
This tee shirt is our version of the error card! When we were printing our summer offering of our Billy Goat tee, our printer had a slight mix-up on press. They temporarily forgot to change the ink. Our print rep, being the awesome gal she is, caught this mistake just 21 shirts into the run. She yelled, “stop the presses” got the ink changed and proceeded to print the rest of the tees.
We got our hands on the happy accidents and here they are… As you can see, this tee is a mash-up of two of our Summer Billy Goat t-shirts. A powder blue tee with the royal, red and white ink colors from the navy colorway, best of both worlds right?
As mentioned before, we were left with 21 of these uber-limited bits of Billy Goat goodness! These will never be made again. Honestly we never planned on making them in the first place! On top of that, they only ran in L, XL and XXL before they caught the mistake, so if you are one of those sizes you are in luck! Sorry smalls and mediums.

Here’s another hit Barry Bonds! This tee pays homage to one of the most unique feats in sports history. When Barry Bonds surpassed “The Hammer” as the most prolific Home Run Hitter* of all time, it didn’t happen without a great deal of controversy. Barry endured a long period of public scrutiny that commenced with his Record-Breaking baseball ultimately being branded with an asterisk by a certain fashion icon. In our humble opinion, these are the type of things that make the sports world great!
Our friends at Turf , one of our great stockists in the Bay Area approached us about doing a Barry Bonds project and of course we were all for it! This is what we came up with, the “Balco Bomber Pack”. Our little stamp on the Barry Bonds saga. We want to put the issue to rest once and for all! All you have to do is read the back of the tee and you will know what Pennant Race thinks about Barry’s “Feat”.
Here are some details about this pack. Our exclusive colorway is this grey version. It is limited to 30 pieces (that’s like 6 of each size for you math guru’s). It will only be sold right here on pennantracegear.com. Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever. Turf’s exclusive color is the black version and it’s only available at their store in San Mateo, CA (www.turfsm.com). Each tee comes with a limited edition “Splash of the Juice” Antenna Ball. It’s like having a miniature, black version of Barry’s record-breaking ball (that’s made out of Styrofoam with a hole in it) to sport on your car! And that’s about it.
