First* Yankee Game (*At the new stadium)

Is there a better way to spend a long weekend than a baseball game? No. I had a chance to check out the new Yankee Stadium this weekend and it didn’t disappoint. It was a beautiful day for a game.

The walkways in the stadium are totally open which is such a refreshing change. Although up top was a bit windy.

I’d say the best thing is that the sight lines inside the park are really similar to the old stadium.

What made it feel like home? Freddy… It ain’t a Yankee game without Freddy.

Of course part of the crew got into a little tomfoolery, after a few big boy beers, but New York’s finest didn’t seem to mind…

One more pill to kill the pain

When we were in college it was a big deal when Ryan Leaf and Wazzu came down to battle the Oregon schools, then he went pro and it never really worked out for him. Aren’t the Colts glad they signed Manning instead of Leaf. Well now Leaf is in some serious trouble. He has been indicted for burglary and other drug charges in Texas where he is a coach. It seem Leaf tried to get several prescriptions for hydrocodone. Other allegations include breaking into a players apartment to steal more hydrocodone. This is probably not going to turn out well for him. The only sort-of-good news is that he is currently in British Columbia getting drug addiction treatment, which may quickly come to an end if he is extradited to Texas…

Looks like Jigga is one step closer to getting his wish. The state appellate court struck down a lawsuit to stop the progress of the Atlantic Yards project, which would house the Nets arena as well as offices and apartment buildings. I’m torn on this… I’d love to see the Nets in the BK, but I don’t think people should lose their houses over it. For the record we think it’s eventually going to happen.
